Whether you're experiencing migraines, PMS cramps, stress headaches, joint pain, car or sports injury or fibromyalgia, these pains can interfere with our life and make us lose our sense of self. When you're in pain, you want relief, you want it now and you don't want to add chemicals to your body, that have undesirable short and long term side effects. One of the most effective and invigorating ways to combat pain is with the application of essential oils.
I created this essential oil and magnesium spray blend to help with muscle aches and cramps, especially after I work out and have tension the next day. This also works great for calming and relaxing the body and helps create an overall sense of well-being.
Helichrysum – is know for its pain relieving and anti-inflammatory properties and it is worth the price. It has anti-inflammatory, antispasmodic and analgesic properties. It helps to support the nervous system and relieve arthritis pain. I can personally attest that you do feel pain relief almost instantly but certainly within minutes of application.
Wintergreen – very effective to help with painful conditions including arthritis, menstrual cramps, headaches -even cluster headaches, migraines and nerve pain. This essential oil is created by steam distilling the leaves, and it contains a very high percentage of methyl salicylate. This oil has pain-relieving properties similar to aspirin (salicylate is the principal component of aspirin).
Yarrow – is excellent for joint aches and pain as it contains powerful restorative and analgesic pain relievers with powerful anti-inflammatory properties.
Sweet marjoram – helps to relieve joint and muscle stiffness spasm, pain, headaches, migraines, rheumatism and osteoarthritis and also has powerful sedative and relaxing properties.
Lavender – is most famous essential oil for relaxation, calm and pain relief. It has anti-inflammatory, anti-microbial and sedative properties and it helps to relieve headaches, insomnia, anxiety, muscle tension and spasms and joint pain.
Magnesium – is excellent in helping soothe muscle tension, PMS, anxiety, cramps of any kind and since over 80% of the population is deficient, this is an easy health game changer, read more here. You can also just make your own Magnesium oil for this spray.
NOTE: I do also recommend healing your gut, balancing hormones, detoxing the body of heavy metals, chemicals, harmful bacteria, parasites, molds/fungus in addition to eating a real food lifestyle to correct the root cause issue of pain. Read more here and here.
- 2 drops of Helichrysum
- 2 drops of Wintergreen
- 2 drops of Peppermint
- 2 drops of Panaway
- 2 drops of Lavender
- Fill the rest of the bottle up with Magnesium oil
- Place the appropriate drops of essential oils in a 4 oz. glass spray bottle
- Fill the rest of the bottle up carefully with the Mg oil
- Place lid on spray bottle tightly
- Shake bottle
- Spray on body. You may feel a slight tingle that should go away, but you can wipe off with wet cloth. You can also spray on the bottom of your feet, if you don't like the tingle effect. This will still create a whole body pain relief effect.
I made your spray today. It worked well on my pain. But my son tried it and there wasnt a huge difference. I was wondering if it was safe to add more essential oils ? Thank you so much for sharing your recipie.
Yes, everyone is unique and different, you can also tailor it to your needs. Thank you!
Can I use it in my daily routine?
In general, without knowing your details, I find yes.
If I am already using Magnesium oil (on the bottoms of my feet) nightly, should I still use it in this blend? Or replace with a carrier oil? Thanks!
Yes you can use both 🙂
is this all herbal ingredients ?
