Paleo Apple Pie Applesauce
Homemade paleo apple sauce
Recipe type: Snacks
  1. Peel and core each apple and then cut into wedges or chunks
  2. Pour lemon juice into pan
  3. Put apples into pan and stir well with lemon juice
  4. Stir in the honey
  5. Add just enough water to cover the bottom of the pan to prevent apples sticking (about ½ inch in the bottom)
  6. Cover pot and place on high heat and bring to a boil, stirring occasionally
  7. Once it boils, turn down to low heat, and cook until apples are soft ~20 minutes, stirring and chopping up apples with wooden spoon
  8. If you like the chunky consistency, you can now add your spices
  9. If you like it smooth, use your immersion blender or food processor to blend to the consistency you prefer
  10. Then add your spices to taste
  1. You can freeze for at least one year, place cooled applesauce in freezer safe bags
