"As you know, the only mainstream doctor (DO) I see is an ophthalmologist for eye problems. My vision is not good; for many years my corrected vision has been 20/30 in the right eye, 20/40 in the left (where I had an injury). I have had high interocular pressure (borderline glaucoma), macular degeneration, and since my glucose has been very high in the past, I have had concerns about retinopathy. Some of these problems I have had since my teen years.
So last week, I visited my new DO in Alpena. This time, the pressure is actually at the low end of normal (i.e., 11 instead of 21), the macular degeneration seems to be stable, the examination showed no effects of diabetic retinopathy at all, and due to the improved condition of my eyes, they feel that some changes in prescription can correct my vision to 20/20 in both eyes!"
