I love a good hearty bowl of chili, especially on a cold afternoon. This chili is beanless, hearty and very nourishing on your tummy. It has a sweet taste with a touch of fall flavor, you will love it!
- 1 pound ground beef
- ½ pound spicy ground pork sausage
- 1 cup chopped of each yellow, red and white onion
- 1 cup chopped of each green, red, yellow and orange bell pepper
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tablespoon pumpkin pie spice
- 1 tablespoon chili powder
- 1 tablespoon nutmeg
- 1 tablespoon ground cumin
- 2 cans fire roasted tomatoes
- 2 teaspoons sea salt
- 2 teaspoons pepper
- Saute and stir onions and peppers until tender, about 15 minutes.
- Stir garlic into onion and pepper mixture and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute.
- At the same time as the onions and peppers are cooking, cook beef and sausage in another pan until browned and crumbly.
- Combine the cooked meat along with any fat to the onions and peppers
- Stir chili powder, cumin, nutmeg, pumpkin spice into the meat mixture; add tomatoes, salt, and pepper and stir.
- Bring to a boil, reduce heat to low, and simmer until flavors are blended, 10 minutes.
- Add filtered water to achieve thickness and desired consistency.
- Enjoy!
