Store bought cereals are loaded with tons of sugar, artificial colors, flavors and very little in the way of nutrition to feed the mind and body. And that is not how you want to start your day. I tell my clients, each day when you wake up you are figuratively starting a fire. For optimal energy, balance hormones, super sharp memory; do you want to put paper and kindling on the fire (grains, refined carbs, sugar, etc..) or solid logs? Solid logs on the fire includes fats and proteins, and this super quick and easy ..and delicious paleo granola cereal offers minerals, vitamins, fats, proteins and healthy carbohydrates.
This can be eaten in the morning, any time of the day and packed up for those on the go, school snack, hiking or any occasion. When my four-legged son and I hike, we both munch on it 🙂 All my children clients report they love it too.
- Coconut flakes
- Coconut oil (drizzled or solid chunks added)
- Almonds
- Sunflower seeds
- Pumpkin seeds
- Chia seeds
- Fruit
- Cinnamon
- Honey (optional)
- Dark chocolate chips (optional)
- Milk: Raw (where to find real milk), Coconut milk (I use this kind - BPA and preservative free), Almond milk or Kefir
- Ideally you want to soak the nuts and seeds overnight first.
- Then blend all ingredients or layer in glass, cup, bowl or tupperware/glassware or baggie (for travel).
- For a porridge texture, blend ingredients in a food processor for about 30 seconds.
- Add hot or cold coconut milk and eat just like cereal or porridge/oatmeal. Change up the taste and flavor each time by adding and omitting ingredients. Enjoy!

I have been making this for breakfast and snacks lately and it is soooooo good! Quick and easy to make. I’ve also added flax seed. Add fruit and you don’t need the honey, And on occasion I’ve used unsweetened cacao chips. I have found that if you add the chips and use honey to sweeten the cereal, you can’t tell the chocolate is not sweetened. 🙂
Yay!!! I knew you’d love it. Thanks so much for the wonderful feedback here.
