NUTRITION AND PHYSIOLOGY Q&A

I take a multivitamin that I purchased at my local grocery store. Is that good for me?

Most store bought multivitamins or isolated vitamins (vitamin E, vitamin A, etc...) are chemically replicated and produced in a laboratory. The results are dead chemicals synthesized into a tablet or capsule. There were no beets, barley, carrots, okra, or any whole food at that laboratory going into those vitamins that you purchased. We are living bodies and putting dead chemicals into a living body causes serious ramifications.

I am taking large doses of Alpha-Tocopherol (Vitamin E) for cardiovascular health, can I take too much?

Whole food nutrients come in complexes, never isolated as in Alpha-Tocopherol (Vitamin E) and Ascorbic Acid (Vitamin C). Alpha-Tocopherol is just one of many components that make up the E complex. Nutrients are naturally found in complexes working synergistically with all their factors and co-factors. Isolated vitamins may cause serious damage especially if taken in high doses. If bought at your local store, the vitamin most likely was synthetically produced by chemicals in isolated high doses and put into a tablet or capsule. Synthetic vitamins also cause side effects if taken over time. For example, large doses of synthetic Vitamin E demineralizes your bones, however, many times the link between the two is missed when bone issues arise.

What are whole food supplements?

They are vitamin complexes, nutrients, minerals and enzymes contained in organic real whole food. Whole food supplements are the rebuilding tools needed for the living body. They also support and heal organs, systems and glands during the rebuilding phase.

Why do you recommend whole food supplements to your clients?

Many people eat a diet high in refined carbohydates. This totally demineralizes and depletes the body. Therefore, it is essential to replace the nutrients that have been depleted from the body. Store bought vitamins are not the answer. Whole food supplements actually repair, heal and rebuild the body. Whole food supplements ensure timely and concentrated nutrient uptake to specific organs, systems and glands in the body.
I extensively use Standard Process whole food supplements. These are potent repairing and healing supplements sold by professional health care practitioners only.

I have taken herbs in the past and they don't seem to be effective. Do you know of any potent herbs that can give me real results?

Herbs manufactured and purchases in the United States typically are not regulated. Many of them do not have good quality control, use processing techniques that deplete the potency of the herb and may not use fresh raw materials, therefore usually yield little results. Extracting an herb is an art form---you are working with living plants that grow differently in different parts of the world and you have to know how to properly handle the living organism. As far as manufacturing the herb, it is an exact science how to extract an active part of an herb and concentrate it properly. Herbs from Australia are strictly regulated. All of the herbs that I use to heal and repair organs, systems and glands are from Australia. Herbs along with whole food supplements are extremely potent tools if you use the real thing in the appropriate amounts.
I extensively use MediHerb organic herbs. These are potent repairing and healing herbs sold by professional health care professionals only.

I feel like I am a slave to my prescription drugs. Is there a safe alternative?

If the body is given the correct rebuilding materials (whole food diet and organ support) the body can repair and heal from most illnesses. Prescription drugs do not actually heal or repair, they simply force processes to bypass the autonomic nervous system. This leads to symptom suppression only, not actual repair of the body. Side effects usually cause secondary problems, which more drugs are needed to suppress the next set of side effects.
I do not recommend discontinuing current prescriptions without the advice of your doctor.

I have severe PMS symptoms such as heavy bleeding, fatigue, anxiety, depression and mood swings. Is there anything natural to help me?

Absolutely. PMS is usual, but is not normal. When using NRT we can determine any stressors intefering in the hormone balance. From the results we can permanently resolve PMS with nutrient based supplements and herbs that support and replenish hormone balance.
The same results can be achieved for women with symptoms who are going through perimenopause, menopause and postmenopause.

I eat alot of carbohydrates. In fact, I feel like I am addicted to them. I want to eat better, but I cannot imagine my life without carbs. Can you help?

Many Americans are addicted to refined carbohydrates. This most certaintly leads to diabetes and heart disease if the simple refined carbs are not eliminated. Because it can be difficult to handle sugar, along with altering your diet, I use potent supplements and herbs to give your body the support it needs to break this addiction. Once you are free from the sugar addiction, you will feel energetic, have a sharper clearer memory, be even-tempered, feel creative and focused, lose the insatiable cravings. You still need to eat carbohydrates, however, you will focus on vegetables, fruits and whole grains.
Sugar handling is one of the most important steps in eliminating disease and illness. Please read the information on this site. www.radiantrecovery.com

Can you give me information on artificial sweetners as in Nutrasweet and diet sodas?

Two of the main ingredients in Nutrasweet are aspartate and glutamate, which are known excitotoxins. Excitotoxins are a group of aminoacids that cause brain neurons to die. During the dying process, the brain experiences processes that give symptoms such a headaches, memory impairment, confusion, seizures and can possibly lead to ADHD, Autism, Alzheimer's, ALS, Parkinson's, and Huntington's. This effect is even more dangerous in pregnant mothers because the amino acids may penetrate the blood-brain barrier and infect the fetus. These excitotoxins are very dangerous to children as well because they may be more sensitive to the excitotoxins and can effect their learning skills. These excitotoxins may actually be the cause of child ADD/ADHD.
MSG is a sodium salt of glutamate and is an excitotoxin as well and is very poisonous. MSG is used as a flavor enhancer. The process to create MSG results in a very toxic poison. MSG is found in virtually all restaurant food, food served at hospitals, nursing homes, fast food, and prepackaged grocery store food. MSG is extremely abundant in diet, no-fat and low-fat foods. The manufacturers have to make the no-fat food taste good or no one would buy it. Symptoms of MSG ingestion are the same as in Nutrasweet or any artificial sweetner; headaches, memory impairment, confusion, seizures and can possibly lead to ADHD, Autism, Alzheimer's, ALS, Parkinson's, and Huntington's. This stuff is very dangerous, however conventional medicine usually does not link excitotoxins to any neurological problems. Unfortunately the person usually gets put on a presciption drug to suppress the neurological symptom and continues drinking diet sodas and eating low-fat foods. The manufacturers know the controversy regarding MSG, so they have come up with other names to disguise the poison. These are just a few; Hydrolyzed Vegetable Protein, Plant Protein Extract, Sodium Caseinate, and Autolyzed Oat Flour.

My children and I eat enriched fortified breakfast cereal. I buy the healthy breakfast cereal, is this a good breakfast?

Enriched sounds like a healthy word. But what it really means is that the food was stripped of all its living components of vitamins and minerals to give it eternal shelf life, through a process which also adds chemicals, then was sprayed back with a few synthetic vitamins so that it looks good when you read the side of the box. In fact, the form of calcium that is used is actually the inorganic form or powdered rock. Hydrogenated oil and several forms of sugar are then added. This is found in all the breakfast cereals even the "healthy" ones.
This process of enriching is the same for all enriched breads as well (which is 90% of all breads). When you eat foods that are enriched, the foods are robbing from your body nutritionally. Your body needs the vitamins and minerals that were originally in the food in order to metabolize what you have eaten. If those original nutrients are not there (if they are taken out by the enriching process) your body literally steals from its own reserves to supply them. Robbing from your body nutritionally over time is a prescription for illness. Conventional doctors usually will not link the two issues together.

There was actually a study done on fortified breakfast cereals. There were 2 groups of rats. One group was feed the breakfast cereal and the other group was feed the box. The group of rats who ate just the box actually outlived the rats who ate the fortified breakfast cereal! The last rat died who ate the cereal on the first day the rat who ate the cardboard box died.

Why should I choose to eat organic food?

We all know that we are what we eat. When we eat organic, we are eating optimum food produced in the best conditions.
Organic fruit and vegetables contain more nutrients and minerals than the mass-produced variety and are also more intensely endowed with scent and color. Organic meats are produced from animals that are treated humanely and reared on certified organic feeds and pastures. And we think they taste so much better!

Organic is healthy for the planet. Organic farming and production practices are designed to work in harmony with nature and the seasons. These practices are sustainable and independent of harmful chemicals, pesticides and fertilizers. Buying organic supports the future of our precious environment.

All authentic organic foods and products are certified. The certification label ensures that a stringent set of tests and standards have been met at every stage of the product's movement from the farm to the store shelf.

Can you define organic?

Organic produce is grown and handled without the use of synthetic chemicals, artificial fertilisers, food irradiation or genetically modified ingredients (GMOs). Organic farming focuses on the health of the soil and utilises the best of both traditional agriculture and modern techniques to produce nutritious fruit and vegetables with minimal intervention. Organic farming also cares for our environment through the use of renewable resources and a commitment to the conservation of energy, soil and water.

Buying certified organic means that the produce has passed the stringent requirements of a 3-year certification process, ensuring integrity for the consumer.
Conventional produce is grown and handled with regular commercial methods which may include the use of synthetic chemicals, artificial fertilisers, food irradiation and genetically modified ingredients (GMOs).

Why is organic better?

Organic food and products are better for you because:
- No hormones
- No pesticides
- No toxic chemicals, antibiotics or fertilizers
- No food additives
- No mould retardants
